I went hiking early one morning and arrived at the edge of the forest just as the sun rose high enough to catch the top branches, while the lower trunks were still in twilight. It was one of the most strikingly beautiful moments I’ve seen while hiking, and when I got home, I had to paint it. This was one of the rare times when the image in my head came out perfectly onto the canvas.
